After several successful guest performances as a singer, I decided in 1997 to start my own trio. This grew later into the quintet Birdland 5, together with my friend and harmonica master Ben van Gageldonk, and alternating guest musicians including Robby Pauwels, Koos van de Sluis, and Michael Varenkamp.

As a singer I soon made a reputation and was requested to sing with my band at the 200 Year Anniversary Gala of the Literary Society De Witte. This was a wonderful, educational experience for my singing, presentation, and understanding of entertainment.

In the mean time I moved with my wife from The Hague to Zuidwolde in the province of Drenthe. After a busy period, I decided to plan some time off and take it a little easier. Now, after I have adjusted to life and work in Drenthe it is time for the next phase in my life.

It's time to travel again and to record a CD with a good musical trio in the style of the big crooners with numbers such as, Just Friends, My Foolish Heart, and Old Devil Moon; a step in the right direction for a new challenge and a great chance to put myself back as a Jazz singer on the musical map.
